Dissemination

Dissemination of the project

Dissemination is a core dimension of the project, understood not only as the circulation of scientific results, but as a process of knowledge transfer capable of connecting research, institutions and civil society. From this perspective, the project has transformed the evidence emerging from the research into tools, spaces for dialogue and accessible resources, with the aim of generating a lasting scientific, institutional and social impact.
Dissemination activities have been developed according to an integrated, multi-level logic, combining traditional forms of academic communication with public engagement initiatives, digital tools and collaborations with public bodies and local actors. This approach has fostered an ongoing dialogue between the scientific community, policy-makers, practitioners, religious organisations and citizens, contributing to a broader understanding of the issues addressed by the project.
Among the main dissemination tools is the project website, conceived as an integrated platform for enhancing the activities carried out, disseminating results and publishing the materials produced. The website is not only an archive of project initiatives, but a dynamic communication device designed to ensure broad and continuous access to information for the academic community, institutions and the general public.
In line with Open Access and FAIR principles, the project has also promoted the open publication and circulation of research outcomes, making scientific contributions, training content and in-depth materials available wherever possible. Within this framework, online training courses in MOOC format have been developed as tools for scientific dissemination capable of reaching a wide and diverse audience through short video capsules and accessible online content.
Alongside digital resources, the project has launched structural editorial initiatives aimed at consolidating the dissemination of results over time. These include the creation of the book series Al-Qantara. Studies on contemporary Muslim worlds on both shores of the Mediterranean and the launch of the scientific journal Journal of Islam in Europe and in the Mediterranean World (JIEMW), published in Open Access, both conceived as stable spaces for scientific reflection and debate on the themes of the project.
Dissemination has also taken place through scientific workshops, national and international conferences, thematic panels and public events for the presentation of results. These occasions made it possible to share the perspectives, methods and data of the research in interdisciplinary contexts, strengthening the visibility of the project and its capacity to contribute to scientific and public debate.
Public engagement activities have played a particularly important role and were designed to promote active participation and dialogue with actors involved in or interested in the themes of the research. Initiatives such as the World Café dedicated to the valorisation of religious diversity and the prevention of Islamophobia, as well as dialogue meetings with institutional representatives, academics and civil society actors, created spaces for shared discussion and co-construction of proposals.
Among the dissemination tools is also the documentary video produced within the project, designed as a form of public restitution of the entire research process, its practices, its protagonists and the results achieved. The documentary helps to narrate not only the scientific outcomes, but also the human and institutional process that accompanied the construction of knowledge.
Overall, the dissemination strategy adopted by the project aims to ensure continuity, accessibility and impact beyond the duration of the funding. The goal is to consolidate a knowledge-dissemination infrastructure capable of sustaining the valorisation of results over time, fostering new collaborations and contributing to the development of more informed practices and policies in the management of religious pluralism and contemporary social transformations.
