Final Conference

7 February 2026 - 9:30 18:15

The closing conference, titled “Islam in Italy between research and public policies. Voices, spaces and new readings of pluralism”, held on 7 February 2026 at the University of Padua, marked the final stage of a broader research pathway on religious pluralism in Italy.

The event aimed to foster open dialogue between academia, institutions and civil society, connecting scientific findings with the concrete challenges of public policies and social coexistence.

Among the main participants were representatives of some of the most significant Islamic organizations in Italy — CICI (Islamic Cultural Centre of Italy – Great Mosque of Rome), UCOII (Union of Islamic Communities and Organizations in Italy), CII (Italian Islamic Confederation), COREIS (Islamic Religious Community of Italy) and UAMI (Union of Albanian Muslims in Italy) — who actively contributed to the discussion and to the sharing of research results.

Thanks to this exchange, the conference offered a space for mutual listening and joint reflection, strengthening the links between research, religious communities and public institutions.

Rather than a closing moment, the conference was conceived as a starting point for future collaborations and new lines of inquiry, with the aim of informing public debate and supporting more aware policies for managing religious diversity in the Italian context.
